What’s happening in your neighborhood

Xcel Energy is working in your area to install natural gas line and replace service lines and meters around Dayton Street, between Montview Boulevard and 8th Avenue, in Aurora, Colorado.

This work allows us to continue to provide safe, reliable natural gas service throughout the community.

Schedule

Construction will begin in the coming weeks and will continue through fall 2027.

Construction will occur Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In certain circumstances, we may be required to work evenings or weekends.

Schedules are subject to change.

Construction Impacts

During work, you may notice:

Marking of utility lines and utility survey holes
Road and sidewalk closures with parking restrictions
Temporary changes to access
Construction noise
Work area restoration as weather allows

We install natural gas line by open trenching and boring.

Boring uses a specialized machine to create an underground pathway through which the natural gas line is pulled or drilled
Open trenching involves digging a trench and placing the natural gas line in the trench

Please alert traffic control if you need to access a location within a road, sidewalk or alley closure during construction.
